Job summary We are currently offering a great opportunity to recruit a GP Assistant to join our friendly team at Stockport Medical Group. The role is offered as a full time position or 2 part time positions on a job share basis and is based primarily with us and also within our wider PCN. The hours are primarily Mon to Fri but may incorporate a late night Friday (until 8pm) and a Saturday. The GPA role is a new role to the Stockport area and has been developed to support our GP's covering admin tasks and some basic clinical tasks. In doing this, it allows our GP's to make the best of their clinical time and allows you to learn and develop along side them. Main duties of the job Managing incoming and out going clinical letters Extracting information from clinical letters enabling them to be coded. Supporting GP's in basic clinical observations, for example phlebotomy,, dipping urine, ECG's Completing basic (non opinion ) forms and core elements of some forms for the GP to approve and sign such as insurance forms, mortgage, benefits agency forms etc. Explaining treatment procedures to the patient as requested by the GP Assisting with patient tasks Helping the GP liaise with outside agencies - for example: arranging admission About us We are a very friendly, 3 site practice surgery near to Stockport Town center and close to the M60 motorway.
