Cranleigh STEM is working with a leading energy company looking to strengthen its engineering team. We are looking for an experienced Electrical & Instrumentation Maintenance Technician to join them on a permanent basis. You will play a key role in supporting the maintenance and operation of production and gas plant facilities, to ensure safe and efficient performance across sites.
Salary: GBP. competitive

Hours: Monday to Friday (07:30-16:30) + Call outs
Location: Alton, Hampshire
Role: Full-time, permanent
Key Responsibilities
* Perform routine and non-routine maintenance checks and repairs.
* Service and calibrate process control instrumentation (transmitters, controllers, analysers, etc.).
* Assist with vendor-specified routine maintenance.
* Maintain site services in compliance with safety standards.
* Provide 24-hour call-out support for plant breakdowns.
* Ensure clean and hazard-free working environments.
* Support installation and commissioning of new plant facilities.
* Work alongside specialist vendor engineers to ensure efficient servicing.
* Supervise contractors and ensure compliance with issued permits.
* Assist operational staff and exhibit an understanding of process, mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation systems.
* Perform equipment isolations to meet permit requirements.
* Continuously improve maintenance practices through training and supplier collaboration.
Requirements
* Proven maintenance experience with instrumentation and electrical equipment.
* Apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 in instrumentation with strong electrical knowledge.
* Ability to work independently and take responsibility for maintenance tasks.
* Understanding of the oil and gas industry operations.

Additional Information
* Some weekend, evening, and bank holiday work required.
* Additional duties as assigned to meet business needs.
Call-Out Compensation
* Weekdays (Monday to Friday): 5 hours at base rate plus a minimum of 5 hours at 1.5x base rate.
* Weekends and Bank Holidays: Minimum of 5 hours at 2.0x base rate.
