As a result of the ‘Balanced System Project’ which established the speech, language, and communication needs of children in our county, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a B8a Clinical Lead to join our team.
The post holder will take a lead role in the development, transformation, and reorganization of the Children's Speech and Language team to meet the SLCN needs of children and young people (C&YP) in Northamptonshire.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead service transformation initiatives, including reducing referral waiting times in line with the 18-week Referral to Treatment Time (RTT), decreasing internal secondary waiting lists, and ensuring the timely completion of EHC needs assessments and reports.
2. Improve and develop the service model and clinical structure.
3. Assist with the modernization and redesign of Children’s Speech and Language Therapy services, aligning with national and local initiatives, and leading on service transformation projects.
4. Develop strong interagency relationships to support integrated care pathways.
5. Lead service development and transformation efforts.
6. Promote co-production by working closely with parents, families, and the Children's participation team to ensure service users and carers are involved in all team activities.
7. Understand the SEND agenda and ensure EHC needs assessments and reports are completed within statutory timeframes.
8. Review, develop, and implement service-specific pathways.
9. Collaborate with other clinical leads across the trust to implement integrated, seamless care pathways for patients across NHFT services and partner organizations.
10. Provide clinical supervision and facilitate clinical quality within the Speech and Language team.
