Job Description
JAB Recruitment is sourcing an Environmental Coordinator on behalf of our Operator client located in Aberdeen. This is a 12-month PAYE contract. The successful candidate will support the Environmental Team by applying processes, sharing knowledge, and working in a technical capacity to ensure compliance and continual improvement of environmental standards.
Roles and Responsibilities
Basic Purpose of the Role:
To support the Environmental Team through technical processes, practices, and knowledge sharing.
Key Responsibilities
Environmental Management System (EMS):
* Provide support to the Safety and Environmental Manager in delivering and continually improving the Company’s ISO14001-certified EMS.
* Monitor current and emerging regulatory requirements that may impact the EMS.
* Maintain knowledge of environmental legislation and company policies and procedures.
* Perform periodic reviews and updates of key EMS documents.
* Coordinate offshore compliance audits and monitor the delivery of plans.
* Manage environmental audit reports and associated actions.
* Facilitate the annual EMS management review process and the Political, Economic, Societal, Technological, Legal, and Environmental (PESTLE) business review.
* Monitor progress toward annual environmental objectives and targets.
* Contribute to environmental incident investigation quality reviews.
* Support HSSEQ teams with relevant campaigns.
* Facilitate environmental reporting and initiative delivery.
* Promote engagement opportunities for Environmental Representatives.
* Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and streamlining of processes.
Environmental Regulatory Compliance:
* Support the regulatory permit application and variation process.
* Analyse data to monitor compliance with permit conditions (e.g., Oil Pollution Prevention and Control, Emissions Trading Scheme, PPC, etc.).
* Prepare and submit required regulatory environmental reports.
* Support the review and progress of project-related permits, licenses, authorizations, notifications, and consents (PLANC).
* Monitor the progress of emission reduction actions and annual reviews.
* Facilitate the preparation of the annual environmental statement for OPRED.
* Provide planning support for offshore regulatory inspections and visits.
* Manage regulatory letters and action completion.
* Prepare platform-specific environmental performance reports.
* Review and update Oil Pollution Emergency Plans (OPEPs).
* Support regulatory invoicing and budget forecasting requirements.
* Maintain environmental permit application tracking workbooks and incident tracking sheets.
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills
Qualifications/Training:
* Membership of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA) or equivalent.
* Degree in Environmental Science, Chemistry, Biology, or a related field.
* : BOSIET/MIST certification.
Experience/Knowledge/Skills:
* Experience in an environmental role, ideally within the oil and gas sector or similar industries.
* Administrative experience in a technical environment.
* Proficiency in IT, particularly in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
* Ability to work effectively in a team or independently.
* Basic knowledge of environmental management systems and UKCS offshore environmental regulations.
* Familiarity with regulatory reporting databases and incident investigation/reporting systems.
