Role Description
Salary circa £55k – Chelmsford office (hybrid)
This is an exciting opportunity for us and one which will provide significant strides in our journey towards becoming the UK’s Number 1 Commercial Insurer. Allianz UK will drive profitable growth across this important segment and establish ourselves as the employer of choice.
As a result of this proposition, we’re seeking an experienced Property and/or Casualty Senior Underwriter to join us at our Chelmsford office (Hybrid working, 3 days a week in office).
Key responsibilities:
* Acting as a Senior Authority holder focused on winning and retaining business of a large and complex nature
* Providing excellent service to our customers
* Building and developing successful Broker relationships
* Being visible in the local market, thriving on face-to-face contact with brokers and end customers
* Developing business relationships with key clients
* Achieving agreed financial and operational performance targets
* Collaborating strongly with other departments to achieve the Company's goals in respect of service delivery
About You
* Outstanding technical underwriting skills in commercial property and/or casualty (ideally at a senior level)
* Proven track record of dealing with large and/or complex risks
* Capable of leveraging data and analytics
* Strong leadership capabilities
* Excellent trading skills and a confident negotiator with proven experience in handling large cases
* Strong ability to build, develop, and maintain broker relationships
* Achievement-oriented, able to organize own workload to meet tight deadlines with a positive attitude
* A good team player, supportive to others with an enthusiastic and positive attitude
* Confident and engaging communication skills with the ability to challenge and influence others
* ACII qualified or progressing towards it
* Full working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
