Job summary Long Lane Medical Centre is looking for a Receptionist/Administrator to work in our friendly, extremely busy GP surgery. Hours of work would be between Monday to Friday 07.45 to 19:00. 37.5 hours per week. Occasional Saturday required during seasonal work. i.e flu vaccines. The successful candidate will be highly motivated, confident, enthusiastic, can answer telephones in a professional and courteous manner, with excellent communication, listening and administration skills. The candidate woudl also require excelelnt keyboard skills. Main duties of the job You will offer general assistance to the practice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, whether in person or via the telephone. Receive, assist and direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way. Undertake a variety of administrative duties to assist in the smooth running of the practice. Facilitate effective communication between patients, members of the primary health care team, secondary care and other associated healthcare agencies. Processing repeat prescriptions in accordance with practice guidelines Computer data entry/data allocation and collation; processing and recording information in accordance with practice procedures and scanning of clinical documents.
