Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead projects and collaborate with colleagues to build pharmacology data on new drug formats (e.g., TCRm, multi-specifics) and effectors (including immune checkpoint- / cytokine-enhanced drugs).
2. Establish in vitro assays for immunophenotyping drug MOA and response/resistance relationships.
3. Establish drug libraries and screening workflows for investigating drug combinations and their effects on target/disease biology.
4. Identify and test novel strategies to block/reprogramme immune or stromal cell subsets that generate suppressive TMEs.
5. Generate patient stratified in vitro models of disease that accurately model drug target biology.
Other Responsibilities:
1. Collaborate with colleagues to build a deep knowledge around drug targets and cancer indications of strategic interest to Immunocore.
2. Contribute to internal project/programme team meetings and help inform go/no-go decisions.
3. Establish and support collaborations with internal and external partners to accelerate oncology research.
4. Keep up to date with scientific literature and contribute to peer-reviewed publications and patents.
5. Provide technical training and mentorship to support team members.
Experience & Knowledge:
Essential:
1. Deep understanding of immunology and cancer cell biology.
2. Significant prior pharmacology experience with therapeutic molecules.
3. Extensive experience with a broad range of immunoassay techniques.
4. Experience in generating in vitro models of cancer.
5. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Desirable:
1. High throughput screening.
2. 3D in vitro modelling experience.
3. Experience with omics technologies.
4. Bioinformatic expertise.
5. In vivo pharmacology experience.
Education & Qualifications:
1. PhD or equivalent in relevant disciplines.
2. 5+ years’ experience of post-doctoral research.
3. MSc or BSc with role-specific equivalent experience.
