About the role:
1. Promote the benefits of stopping smoking and the tobacco addiction service through a variety of mechanisms to identified agencies and organisations via a range of venues and events
2. Provide support via 1:1 session, groups, drop in and telephone support to service users wishing to become smoke free
3. Undertake assessments, plan and deliver tobacco addiction interventions, which will include, nicotine replacement therapies and Work under PGDs in order to administer or supply pharmacotherapy options
4. Undertake and Provide training and intervention across a variety of settings to targeted groups
5. Develop therapeutic alliances with people who require tobacco addiction interventions
6. Build effective partnership working across the delivery locality
7. Undertake risk assessments and contribute to risk management plans as appropriate in the service
8. Record and input client data and information in order that the service operates within contractual, administrative, and financial requirements
9. Ensure all assessment and interventions are recorded and monitored through the Quit Manager data system

About you:
10. First level registered nurse with recent relevant post qualification experience and a current PIN. (We welcome applications from newly qualified nurses)
11. Be a non-medical prescriber (or willingness to undertake)
12. Have a sound and demonstrable knowledge of working within PGDs
13. Willing to undertake specific Tobacco addiction training as required
14. Experience of contributing to project development
15. Knowledge of Motivational interviewing techniques and behaviour change
16. Ability to assess and formulate treatment plans with service users and formulate written reports as necessary
17. Communicate confidently and effectively, verbally and in writing
18. Practise in a compassionate, respectful way, maintaining dignity and wellbeing and communicating effectively
19. Respond flexibly to the demands of the post
