W&A is delighted to work exclusively with a fantastic Stirling-based organisation as they seek to recruit a Finance Manager for their business.
The role is replacing an existing Finance Manager who is relocating for another role and will report to the Financial Controller.
About The Role:
The Finance Manager will lead a small team of two to three and oversee a key division of the business. The role involves extensive business partnering and requires an individual with excellent stakeholder engagement skills, the ability to forge good relationships, and the ability to challenge when necessary.
From a finance perspective, the role is more commercial and also involves strategic and planning activities. It’s very focused on performance and has very limited financial accounting activity.
It’s an exciting time for the business, coming off a great year 2024. Further potential growth is expected through acquisition and the opening of a new site.
The Finance Manager role is expected to grow with the business, therefore, this role would suit a candidate with ambitions to be part of a development opportunity.

It’s hugely important for the business that the Finance Manager embraces what is already in place and can become a key part of the team.
Key Responsibilities:
* Preparation of finance reporting including detailed margin analysis and forecast.
* Responsible for month end process including preparation of month end journals and reconciliations in line with finance dept timetables.
* Co-ordinate divisional budget & reforecast processes including sales & margin financials and overhead requirements provided by divisional management.
* Monitoring of performance against budget and forecast, investigating and reporting on variances.
* Review & analyse financial performance of projects after completion, supporting investigation & learnings on margin variances.
* Report & review proposal data, analysing win/loss trends and actively look for improvements.
* Embed strategic planning practices across the divisional finance function by developing and executing processes aligned with organisational objectives.
* Act as a financial business partner to the services department, contributing to informed decision-making.
* Foster inter-departmental relationships to ensure financial processes align with operational needs.
* Participate in current company-wide automation/AI initiatives to the extent applicable within finance to optimise processes and reduce administrative workloads.
* Strong leadership skills with experience in coaching, mentoring, and managing teams to achieve success.
* Professionally Qualified Accountant or Qualified by Experience.
* Experience of managing and developing staff.
* Experience of a Manufacturing, Engineering or FMCG could be advantageous.
* Proficient in modern business tools (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, ERP systems and data visualisation tools).
* A confident communicator, and presenter with the ability to build relationships with stakeholders out with finance.
* A curious mindset with someone who enjoys getting involved in continuous improvement and being part of a first-class finance function.

* This is an onsite role.
