Position: Lead Arable Operator

The Role
Hartley Farming (Yorkshire) Ltd is looking to appoint a Lead Arable Operator as part of a small team, farming 1100ha in North Yorkshire. Cropping consists of combinable crops, forage maize, a significant SFI area, as well as land let for potatoes and vining peas as part of a wider food business.
The Lead Arable Operator will report to and work alongside the Farm Manager to deliver on the aims and objectives of the business.
The business operates a fleet of modern, well-maintained equipment including Case IH, Claas, JCB & Vaderstad. Precision farming technologies play a significant role within our business hence experience in these areas would be desirable.

Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be expected to undertake the following roles within the business and therefore, experience in these areas is essential:
* Primary Sprayer Operator, including liquid fertilizer.
* Combine Operator
* Variable Rate Drill Operator
* Variable Rate Fertilizer Spreading
Key Skills and Behaviours
In addition, the successful candidate will be expected to possess the following key skills and behaviours:
* Positive and proactive approach to Health and Safety
* PA1, PA2, PA4 & PA6 qualifications
* NRoSO registration
* Telehandler certificate
* Workshop and Fabrication skills
* Impeccable attention to detail
* Accurate and consistent record keeping
* Tidiness in every aspect of the role
* Able to work under your own initiative, without supervision if required
* Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal
* Effectively and appropriately communicate with the Farm Manager and other stakeholders, including the owners, other staff, external contractors, and suppliers.
Remuneration
A competitive remuneration package will be offered, including subsidised accommodation if required. The role will commence on the 8th January 2025.
