Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and efficient Kitchen Assistant to join our team in Wolviston, United Kingdom. As a Kitchen Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our kitchen operations and ensuring a smooth food service experience for our customers.
* Assist in basic food preparation tasks, including washing, peeling, and chopping ingredients
* Maintain a clean and hygienic kitchen environment by washing dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment
* Support chefs and other kitchen staff in their daily tasks
* Ensure proper storage and rotation of food items to minimise waste
* Assist in receiving and storing deliveries, keeping the storage areas organised
* Follow all food safety and hygiene practices to maintain high standards of cleanliness
* Help with the set-up and breakdown of kitchen stations as needed
* Contribute to a positive and collaborative work environment
Qualifications
* Basic food preparation skills and knowledge of kitchen operations
* Understanding of food safety and hygiene practices
* Ability to safely use and maintain kitchen equipment
* Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team
* Strong time management and organisational skills
* Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights
* Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness
* Previous experience in a kitchen environment is preferred
* Food hygiene certificate is desirable
* Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends, as required
