Synergize Consulting has been selected to provide professional service solutions to a multinational defence, security and aerospace company in the UK. Through this partnership, Synergize Consulting will assist the business providing design, integration and support services on their journey to improve their customers tactical CIS capability and network connectivity, enabling a digital advantage in the battlefield.
As part of this partnership, we are currently seeking a CIS Service Engineering and Training professional to join us on this journey with the offering of an initial 6-month contract (INSIDE IR35).
This assignment will be based within a discrete project team to facilitate onsite support of a new in-service communications and information system at an establishment in Herefordshire, although the role come with the requirement to undertake frequent nationwide (expensed) travel to MOD sites across the UK. Due to this, Its is essential that the successful representative is based within a commutable distance of Herefordshire or be willing to relocate for the duration of this assignment.
Due to the nature of our client’s work, the role will require the successful applicant to hold security clearance to SC level or be will and able to undergo the Vetting process to achieve this.
Assignment Overview
Based primarily on the user site, with frequent UK deployments, the Field Service and Training Engineer will provide support and training directly to users, working with a system that is directly involved in ensuring the National Security of the UK. This will including acting on behalf of end users to accept system updates, and provide system configuration and deployment advice at the point of demand.
Working alongside an established team of engineers and in conjunction with the product owner, help identify options for system improvements and support end users to understand the system capability and updates through provision of defined training courses and training improvements and when required work with users and established team to raise & diagnose issues, define workarounds and recommend solutions.
This is the primary interface for the user community being the first port of call, where first hand knowledge and understanding of the way our users interact is pivotal to success and will drive the user experience.
Essential skills and experiences:
* Experience in the delivery of training in a military environment;
* Strong inter-personal skills and ability to organise likeminded users.
* Understanding of tactical communications and information systems, operation, maintenance and repair. Tactical radios and ancillaries;
* Highly organised with the ability to stay calm under pressure
* Would suit candidate with strong Military background (or relevant experience within a military setting), preferably from within the Royal Corps of Signals (Communications Systems Operator or Engineer).
Desirable skills and experience:
* Experience with Portable Computing Devices;
* Military Applications;
* Understanding of IP Networking;
* Understanding of radio communications principles and antennas & propagation;
* Ability to deliver against a continuous operational tempo.
