About the Role:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Interim Housing Development Officer to join a busy council's Housing Development team in the East Midlands. This is a part-time, 3-month interim role that will offer flexible remote working for 2 days per week. There will be the occasional trip required to the council but if the work is being carried out effectively the client will be happy with remote working.
In this vital role, you will support the team in delivering key housing development projects, assisting in the planning, coordination, and implementation of housing initiatives. Your expertise will be integral in ensuring that the council continues to meet its housing needs and objectives within the local community.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide support to the Housing Development team in the planning and delivery of housing development projects.
Assist with the coordination of external consultants, contractors, and stakeholders.
Review and input into project documentation, including feasibility studies, design proposals, and funding applications.
Help to ensure that all projects are compliant with relevant policies, regulations, and financial controls.
Support in managing the development process, ensuring timelines and budgets are adhered to.
Offer general administrative support to the team as needed.
Essential Criteria:
Demonstrable recent experience of detailed involvement in Homes England scheme audit for Registered Provider (RP) developments, with a successful outcome (i.e. audit results green/pass).
Willingness and capability to assemble HE-compliant audit files from disparate source material, including liaison with Solicitors, council staff, and consultants such as Employer's Agents.
Ability to work on your own initiative, both remotely and/or in the office, and manage tasks independently.
Previous experience in a housing development or project management role, ideally within a local authority or public sector environment.
Strong knowledge of the housing development process, from inception to completion.
Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
A proactive and flexible approach, with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage with a wide range of stakeholders.
A good understanding of relevant legislation and regulations within housing development.
