Position: SEND Teaching Assistant
Location: Stockport, Greater Manchester
Contract Type: Full-time - Temp to Perm
Salary: 14.65 Per Hour

About the Role:
We are looking for an enthusiastic, compassionate, and experienced Teaching Assistant to support students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) at a well-established school in Stockport. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with diverse learning needs. As a SEND TA, you will be working closely with students to support their academic, social, and emotional development in a nurturing and inclusive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with SEND
* Assist in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to each child's needs
* Support students with various learning difficulties, including autism, physical disabilities, and social, emotional, and mental health needs
* Promote inclusion and encourage students to engage with their learning
* Assist with behavior management strategies in line with school policies
* Work closely with teachers and other staff to monitor student progress
* Support in the preparation of resources and classroom setup
* Help with personal care and mobility if required, in accordance with individual student needs
Essential Criteria:
* UK experience of working with children with SEND in a school setting (preferred but not essential)
* A strong understanding of the diverse needs of SEND students
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
* A patient, empathetic, and flexible approach to supporting students
* Ability to work well as part of a team and independently
* A passion for supporting children's development and learning
Desirable Criteria:
* A relevant qualification in special educational needs.
* Experience in supporting children with autism spectrum disorders (ASC), ADHD, or other specific needs
* Level 2 Team Teach certification
