The Senior Principal Designer Role
The successful Senior Principal Designer will lead the design risk management across a diverse portfolio of projects, working closely with architects, contractors, and clients. You will provide expert guidance on CDM 2015 regulations, ensuring that health and safety considerations are embedded throughout the design and construction phases. Senor Principal Designer Key Responsibilities
Lead the delivery of Principal Designer duties in line with CDM 2015 regulations. Provide expert advice on health and safety risk management during the design phase. Prepare and review pre-construction information and construction phase plans. Conduct design risk assessments and implement hazard elimination strategies. Collaborate with clients, architects, and contractors to ensure CDM compliance. Lead site inspections and audits to monitor safety performance. Mentor and support junior team members, contributing to their development within the practice.
The Senior Principal Designer
Degree in a construction-related field. NEBOSH Construction Certificate or equivalent qualification. Chartered Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g., RICS, CIOB, or APS) is desirable. Proven experience as a Principal Designer in the construction industry, preferably within an architectural setting. Strong knowledge of CDM 2015 regulations and health and safety practices. Excellent communication and leadership skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and deliver within tight deadlines. Proficient in relevant software and tools.
