As Hotel Operations Manager, you will ensure support is given for a smooth day-to-day running of all operations, effectively deputising and supporting the Group GM while championing and maintaining consistency of brand standards. You will be a Hotel Operations Manager who is product and customer-focused with a clear emphasis on training and development in all departments within the hotel. You will help manage an effective cost programme to ensure budgeted sales and profit targets are met.
The hotel is currently under a Government contract; however, it will be transitioning back to guest-facing operations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Take control of set areas within the hotel and be accountable for these areas.
2. Work in conjunction with the Group GM to ensure the smooth running of all areas of the hotel.
3. Ensure a high standard of cleanliness, maintenance, and safety in all areas at all times.
4. Key accountable departments will include Sales, Revenue, F&B Operations, Reception Operations, and some basic Finance.
5. Deputise for the Group GM and Sales Manager in ensuring statutory legal compliance is adhered to overall within the group.
6. Ensure achievement of all KPIs, both financial and legal criteria.
7. Participate in guest activities that promote the hotel product and its services.
8. Be aware of competition and market trends.
9. Work within the hotel's budget figures, maximising revenue and minimising expenditure.
10. Collaborate with all Heads of Departments (HODs).
11. Control expenses to agreed levels with all HODs across the hotel.
12. Coach and lead teams to ensure guests receive an exceptional level of service and want to return.
13. Encourage the team to work flexibly, which will develop their knowledge and assist in the event of absence cover while maintaining service standards.
14. Assist HR in the production of departmental training plans, action the training, and evaluate to ensure that the training is relevant and achieves the required goals.
15. Assist the Group GM in carrying out departmental appraisal reviews in a timely and appropriate manner.
16. Ensure that the team is constantly improving their product knowledge to maximise revenue and the service provided.
17. Ensure that the image of the hotel is always upheld.
18. Ensure all information from Health and Safety meetings is communicated to all team members.
19. Ensure compliance throughout the department and hotel with brand, hotel, and company operating standards.
