Who We Are: The Outdoors Project is a Children's activity company who run Holiday clubs, After school clubs, Birthday parties, Weekend clubs, Toddler & Parent sessions for primary school aged kids. The business was started in Brighton over a decade ago. In 2013 the first Outdoors Project pilot franchise launched in Bristol as the franchise arm of the business began to develop. Now we have 7 franchises operating their own business all around the country & are in a confident position where the business is looking to expand. What Will Candidates Gain From The Program: - This internship will be an immersive 6 week experience working in the Children's activity sector. - It will be an experience working in a sector where you would normally be asked to commit for a longer period of time to gain experience. - This internship will provide the candidate with an experience which could develop into an opportunity for the candidate to start their own Outdoor Project franchise business. - The program will be run by the current Franchise Assistant in the business who begun himself over a year ago by initially working out at the clubs & then transitioned into a mixed role of working on the franchise business and continuing with the clubs. Role & Responsibility: - Working throughout the whole internship closely with our current franchise assistant - Working outside at the summer holiday clubs providing you with practical experience of the role - Learning about managing groups & sessions of up to 30 kids - Learning about the business side of the franchise from the perspective of the franchisor - Understanding about the path to becoming a franchisee Requirements: - DBS certificate preferred but not essential as you can apply for one if accepted - Degree in the area of business / teaching / outdoors activity (again preferred but not essential) - Located in the South East of England - Enthusiast and energetic - Enjoy working as part of a team - Can demonstrate and keen to develop upon leadership qualities Our Offering: - 6 week paid internship - The internship will run in Brighton & Hove from Monday 18th July until Friday 26th July. - Saturday 16th July is staff training at Brighton HQ so the intern will also be expected to be available on this date, as will be the perfect way to be introduced to the team & the activities. - The intern will be expected to work Monday to Friday throughout the whole internship.
