Landscape Architect / Landscape Planner Due to an expanding workload focusing on renewable energy projects, pumped storage, and electricity transmission infrastructure supporting the transition to net zero, an independent landscape and environmental consultancy is seeking a Landscape Architect / Landscape Planner to join their team. The ideal candidate will have an interest in working on Landscape and Visual Impact Assessments to support projects addressing today's environmental challenges. The role involves providing landscape architectural support across a range of exciting projects. Typical responsibilities include:
* Undertaking site visits, landscape and visual surveys, and photography
* Collecting background data and conducting baseline studies
* Preparing figures, visuals, and presentation materials in various formats
* Drafting written inputs, including LVIA Chapters and associated Technical Appendices
* Collaborating with other environmental disciplines, including in-house EIA Coordinators
* Attending internal and external meetings
The successful candidate will join an established and experienced team of landscape practitioners, environmental consultants, and graphic technicians. The role offers opportunities for progression and skill development, with the chance to work on multidisciplinary projects alongside environmental consultants and other specialists. Essential Qualifications / Experience / Skills:
* Degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., Degree / Masters in Landscape Architecture)
* Strong written, verbal, and graphic communication skills
* Experience with feasibility, optioneering, and LVIA work
* Basic knowledge of the UK planning system, planning guidance, policy context, and landscape planning processes
* Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
* Ability to build effective working relationships with colleagues and clients
* Enthusiastic, self-motivated, and keen to learn
* Adaptable and capable of creative problem-solving
* Able to work under tight deadlines in a collaborative environment
Desirable Skills / Experience:
* Chartered Member of the Landscape Institute
* Experience with graphic software (AutoCAD and ArcGIS experience is an advantage, but other graphic software packages are also appreciated)
* Interest in renewable energy and the grid sectors
* Full, clean driver’s license preferred, as some travel may be required
* A love for the outdoors is desirable
