Dorset HealthCare University NHS Foundation Trust
Are you an innovative, creative, motivated caring professional who is looking for a new challenge? We have an exciting opportunity to join our well-established Intellectual Disability (ID) CAMHS service.
As an Occupational Therapist, you will act as a Care Coordinator for a dedicated caseload of patients who may be presenting with behaviours that challenge and/or significant mental health needs. You would provide person-centred, evidence-based, targeted interventions to support the child, their parents/carers, and the multi-agency team. You will be provided with regular clinical and peer supervision.
The team works collaboratively; you will have the support and opportunity to develop your own skills and work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
The Occupational Therapist role is a Full-Time permanent position within the pan-Dorset ID CAMHS service. The role will involve working across the two sites in Dorset - Southbourne and Dorchester, with your base of work being in Marvin House, Dorchester. You will need to have a valid driving licence and use of a car as you will be required to review and monitor patients in their own homes and within other community settings.
Opportunities for flexible working are available as long as the service needs are met.
Main duties of the job
1. To provide a high-quality person-centred approach to care delivery which always considers people's safety, privacy, and dignity.
2. To provide specialist care and interventions, assessments, treatments, and managing patients on a caseload, as part of the wider multi-disciplinary care team.
3. To provide specialist advice to others regarding the management and care of patients/service users.
4. To devise specialist programmes of care for other professionals to deliver and ensure they are delivered appropriately.
5. To plan, implement, and review health improvement programmes in a range of settings.
6. Provide supervision, mentorship, training, and clinical support to students and trained practitioners.
