Bolton NHS Foundation Trust Occupational Health Department has a vacancy for an Occupational Health Nurse (Band 6). You will play a vital role within the department as it strives to provide high-quality services to the Trust and our external clients.
Main duties of the job
Reporting to the Occupational Health Manager, you will be part of a multi-disciplinary Occupational Health team. You will communicate and work collaboratively with OH Advisers, OH Nurses, Mental Wellbeing Practitioners, HR professionals, and liaise with key stakeholders and external agencies as required in support of a proactive and timely approach to employee health in the workplace.
Detailed job description and main responsibilities
1. Provide comprehensive, confidential advice to managers, HR, and employees and make recommendations on fitness for work/task on pre-placement assessments.
2. Manage a caseload effectively.
3. Undertake occupational screening/health surveillance and provide relevant analysis in accordance with health and safety legislation; interpret results and advise accordingly.
4. Provide support with vaccination/immunisation delivery and management, including seasonal flu campaigns.
5. Refer for advice and diagnosis from a senior OH clinician if required.
Person specification
* Part 1 NMC Register
* Vaccination and Immunisation Training
* Occupational Health Experience or alternative specialty with transferable skills
* NHS Experience
* Experience in Full OH remit including health surveillance, pre-placement assessments, vaccination programmes
* Previous experience within an OH setting
Knowledge
* Knowledge of Occupational Health Legislative Requirements
* Management of Workload
* Knowledge of Risk Assessment
