An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Medical Secretary/Patient Pathway Coordinator in the Diabetes and Endocrinology Department within General Medicine. We are looking for an enthusiastic, dynamic, highly motivated, hardworking individual to join a busy, friendly, and dedicated team.
Main duties of the job
The job role will be varied. You will need to provide a wide range of comprehensive administrative and clerical duties to a team of Consultants, Specialist Nurses, and Junior Doctors. You will need to be reliable and hardworking with excellent communication and IT skills. You will be expected to work as a team member but also as an individual using your own initiative.

Person Specification
Skills and Experience
1. Experience of a range of secretarial procedures.
2. Advanced keyboard skills, with knowledge of Microsoft products.
3. Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines using own initiative.
4. Able to remain calm in a busy environment when working under pressure.
5. Able to make judgements involving a range of facts that require analysis.
6. Ability to organise a number of complex activities.
7. Good interpersonal skills.
8. Excellent organisational skills.
9. Previous NHS experience. Experience of managing patient pathways and waiting lists.
10. Minimum of 2 years' secretarial experience.
11. Skills in NHS computer software.
Qualifications
1. GCE English and Maths or the equivalent - A-C.
2. Computer literate including Word and Excel and excellent keyboard skills.
3. Medical Secretary qualification.
