To support our operations we now have an exciting new opportunity to join our team as a Quality Engineer on a 12 Month Fixed Term Contract at our plant in Havant, Hampshire. Reporting into our Quality Manager, this role will play an important part in helping to drive continuous improvement activities throughout our quality processes, liaising with customers and suppliers, and driving change improvements in both product and service quality to improve customer service, eliminate waste, improve process capability and drive down costs. Job Responsibilities As Quality Engineer, you’ll be responsible for: • Ownership of the customer related quality matters, taking a proactive approach to liaising with all relevant internal and external stakeholders to address issues in a timely manner, and implement appropriate containment and improvement actions • Management of Danfoss Quality Management System policies to ensure all policies are implemented and deployed appropriately. This includes manufacturing documentation implementation and improvement to complete DQMS, Quality Management System and other ISO9001 related activities including internal auditing • Utilisation of DMAIC, 8D and other quality tools to solve problems in a timely manner in conjunction with other team members, especially those issues which are ‘needle-movers’. • Driving improvements in supplied part quality, managing supplier improvement, including supplier DPPM, supplier containment and corrective actions, and ongoing assessment of suppliers, while supporting supplier development and the PPAP process. • Take ownership and be totally responsible for the appraisal of related parts, using both simple and complex measuring equipment whilst developing acceptable measurement systems as needed. • Supporting the Process Focused Team and Functional Lean activities, including the updating of Quality related Quality Operating System (QOS) information and functional metrics, whilst participating as required. Background & Skills To thrive in this role, you will be a seasoned quality engineer, demonstrating: • Qualification in a relevant technical discipline, such as HNC / HND Degree in manufacturing engineering or similar • Demonstrable quality engineering experience in a manufacturing environment required • Experience of using a suite of quality tools including Cpk, MSA, Cause & Effect, Pareto, Process Mapping, Lean, PFMEA, Control Plans, Sampling Plans, APQP, PPAP, ISO9001 • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with cross-functional colleagues, customers and suppliers Danfoss – Engineering Tomorrow At Danfoss, we are engineering solutions that allow the world to use resources in smarter ways – driving the sustainable transformation of tomorrow.
