About the role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Risk Analyst to join our team. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in shaping the way we understand and utilise HMCTS Governance, Risk and Assurance data. By providing robust data sources, insightful analysis, and comprehensive reports, you will empower data-driven decision-making and enhance HMCTS’ processes and reporting.
You will have experience of working with data to provide impactful analysis and actionable insights. Your excellent communication and interpersonal skills will enable your analytical work to hit home with key stakeholders and allow you to build strong relationships with colleagues across the organisation.
This is an opportunity to join a strong and dynamic team at the heart of HMCTS in the Governance and Assurance Team. Our team supports the organisation to make the right decisions, with the right information at the right time, driving strategic choices and alignment about what to prioritise to enable access to justice for all.
At this point there are no line management duties.
You will take the lead in building and maintaining databases that enable the segmentation and analysis of customer data by type, behaviours, and trends. This includes, but is not limited to:
Assisting with the development of a standard set of MI for use at all levels across HMCTS, including those required on a regular basis to support internal governance boards and those required to share with external stakeholders.
Provide Governance and Risk Team with a range of MI related support activities for the relevant business or product area.
Supporting stakeholders to identify and highlight trends in MI to enable future focused discussions.
Have an awareness of all areas of MI to be able to inform and support the cleansing and prioritisation of reports, supporting a continuous improvement culture.
Use a continuous improvement mindset to develop new measures and insight and build them into regular MI reporting, collaborating, and working with performance teams across the agency.
Producing ad-hoc MI in an understandable visual format quickly and efficiently for stakeholders as required.
Ensure there is sufficient governance in place for data sharing including any documentation required in line with the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) and internal policies, ensuring compliance with governance arrangements.
Ensure the HMCTS MI ways of working are as efficient as possible whilst meeting customer needs and that data is accurate, taking action where necessary.
Ensure action owners are reporting in line with required deadlines and following up where necessary.
Using data to strengthen 2nd line oversight across the three lines of defence.
What are we looking for? (Person Specification)
The ideal candidate for this position should demonstrate:
Essential
Ability to analyse data using appropriate techniques and visualisation tools such as Power BI and Excel, working with a range of datasets and creating new datasets where required.
Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to develop effective data-driven solutions.
Demonstrate a meticulous approach to detail, ensuring data integrity and reliability across data reporting and data sharing documentation.
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to manage multiple relationships with internal and external stakeholders, influencing at all levels and handling complex conversations with impartiality and integrity.
Demonstrate strong organisational skills by prioritising and triaging queries and managing your workload efficiently, whilst maintaining high performance under pressure in a fast-paced environment to ensure tasks are completed within deadlines.
Desirable
Experience of Power Platform and Power Apps.
Experience of working as an analyst within risk/assurance areas
Have awareness of own development needs and drive self-development using a variety of available resources.
