What skills and experience we're looking for
Due to the expansion of our Outstanding Nursery the Governors of Beddington Infants’ School are looking to appoint a Nursery Nurse to join our experienced team.
As part of your role, you will be learning with small groups of children, planning learning opportunities and completing assessments, working alongside the class teacher and other Nursery Nurses.
The role will be 5 days a week, 8.45am until 12.15 everyday, term time only, with relevant INSET days. Initially this role is until the end of the Summer Term 2025 but maybe extended based on additional funding received.
Some Responsibilities:
• lead learning for groups of children ensuring their safety and access to learning activities whilst learning indoors and outdoors.
• Assist with the development and implementation of the Early Years curriculum, including social, health, physical, hygiene, first aid, daily medication and welfare matters.
• Establish constructive relationships with pupils and interact with them according to individual needs.
• Create and maintain a creative, purposeful, orderly and supportive environment, in accordance with lesson plans and assist with the display of pupils’ work.
• Assist with the planning of learning activities.
• Monitor pupils’ responses to learning activities and accurately record achievement/progress as directed.
• Undertake programmes linked to the Early Years Framework delivered in line with the school vision and teaching and learning philosophy.
• Recording achievement and progress and feeding back to the teacher.
• Support the use of computing in learning activities and develop pupils’ competence and independence in its use.
• Be aware of, and support, difference and ensure all pupils have equal access to opportunities to learn and develop.
• Contribute to the overall ethos/work/aims of the school.
It is essential that candidates have:
• experience of working with children
• an NVQ 3 childcare qualification or equivalent
• the ability to work as a member of a team
• a patient & calm nature
• excellent interpersonal skills
• good spoken and written English and Maths skills
• good organisational skills
• self motivation
• flexibility
• good sense of humour
Salary Scale 3/4 depending on experience.
