Operating Theatres Stracathro Hospital Trainee Assistant Perioperative Practitioner band 3 (to 4 upon completion of training) An opportunity has arisen for an individual to join the multidisciplinary team within the operating departments in NHS Tayside. The post holder will work as a vital part of our team, participating in the day to day activities of an operating theatre. This post will initially be recruited at Band 3 and will progress to Band 4 following successful completion of the Assistant Theatre Practitioner training programme. You will play an important part in the patients journey, working within the operating department and assisting registered staff in the care and treatment of patients undergoing elective surgical procedures. You will also act as the scrub practitioner as delegated by a Registered Nurse ( RN ) or Operating Department Practitioner (ODP) Experience as a Theatre Healthcare Support Worker is essential. The successful applicant will be based at the above mentioned site, but may be required to vary their workplace within the area covered by NHS Tayside, as required. Applicants must have good communication skills and be able to work as part of a diverse and fast paced team. Applicants who have not previously completed Assistant Perioperative Practitioner training will be required to complete this via NHS Scotland Academy in Golden Jubilee, completion of this training is mandatory to successful applicants.
