This is a brilliant opportunity to work as part of the MEH Alliance on the prestigious Hinkley Point C Nuclear project. The alliance works across the project to integrate and coordinate the delivery of all main MEH, cabling, and associated support services. This innovative approach will help different contractors work as a single entity to deliver the complex installation of cabling and pipework in the power station’s rooms.
The role
As a Fire Safety Advisor, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You will ensure Emergency Preparedness and Fire Health and Safety Standards of the HPC project are consistently met and become an integral part of the specialist fire safety team.
Day to day, you’ll undertake Fire Safety Assurance Audits, Inspections, and other monitoring activities of both controlled areas and all site contractors to ensure compliance with site Fire Safety Standards and UK legislation.
You will support the HPC Way, ensuring the site works effectively and to one culture, manage and own Emergency Exercises to support the MEH Exercise Programme.
Write and own Emergency Preparedness, write reports, and identify key learning from Exercises.
Provide SME advice on Fire Safety and Emergency Preparedness, demonstrate positivity through always striving for solutions, demonstrate respect through valuing other points of view, and demonstrate clarity through sharing information simply and concisely. Observe and record ‘At Risk’ & ‘Reduce Risk’ behaviours.
This role is full time 38 hours a week and will be based on site at Hinkley Point C in Bridgwater.
Essential experience of the Fire Safety Advisor:
* Suitable site experience in a similar role within Fire Safety.
* Producing Fire Risk Assessments in the construction or other dynamic environment.
* Excellent written and spoken communication skills in order to explain EP/Fire procedures and expectations to a range of people.
Qualifications for the Fire Safety Advisor:
* NEBOSH Fire and Construction Certificates would be desirable.
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain BPSS security clearance for this role.
