A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen for a band 7 ward manager to lead our Cardiothoracic High Dependency unit.
We are looking for a 1st level registered nurse who has the drive and motivation to ensure our patients receive the highest level of quality care. You need to have excellent clinical knowledge and demonstrable leadership qualities, and the expertise and passion to drive and support the team to maintain standards of patient care.
Cardiothoracic HDU is a fast-paced ten bedded level 2 facility within the cardiothoracic ward footprint, caring for patients pre and post cardiothoracic surgery who require close monitoring and specialised interventions. The post holder will work closely with the cardiothoracic ward, Cardio intensive care, and cardiothoracic theatres to ensure patient flow and safety.
You will join a hardworking and supportive multidisciplinary team, making it a rewarding and enjoyable environment to work.
We will offer excellent developmental opportunities including coaching and leadership support. The post-holder will be expected to provide the delivery of high-quality specialist care.
Cardio HDU is an integral provision within the Cardiovascular collaborative and provides high-quality care for patients who require both elective and emergency surgical procedures in a level 2 facility. The post-holder will be expected to provide an expert clinical and leadership function in the assessment of care needs for this patient group who receive pre and post-operative care, with an emphasis on care delivery and management of the in-patient service.
They will be an active member of the multidisciplinary team by demonstrating a range of essential specialist nursing skills to meet the needs of this client group.
