Hitchcocks Motorcycles in the village of Chadwick End near Solihull has a vacancy for a Machinist to run their small engineering workshop. The workshop includes a small 2 axis CNC lathe, a large CNC lathe with multiple axis and live tools, and a CNC 3 axis Mill. Along with a number of manual machines.
The workload consists of small batch manufacturing of components specifically for classic motorcycles, both from factory drawings and sample pieces. Also 2nd operations off the CNC machines, plus re-manufacturing/modifying off the shelf brought in parts.
We would be looking for the successful applicant to work 30 – 40 hours per week over 3 - 5 days a week. There would be no weekends or nights. Hours and days are flexible.
The applicant would also be responsible for planning the workload. Including tooling and material ordering to ensure a smooth delivery of components.

• Have input into potential problems that can occur within the engineering process and how they could be avoided.

• CNC coding languages Fanuc (i18), Yasnac (LX3) and Heidenhain (TNC 2500B)
• Be a good team player in a small family run company
• Be capable of working in a swift, safe and proficient manner.
• Have the ability to work independently and use own initiative
• Be reliable, honest and responsible, with a great attitude to time keeping
• Have a flexible approach to tasks given to them
• Have excellent standards and good attention to detail.
• An interest in classic motorcycles would be a benefit, but not essential.
