Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and dedicated individual to join our team of Rotational Clinical Pharmacists.
The successful candidate will gain a wide range of experience in clinical specialties including: Medicine, Surgery, Care of the Elderly and Acute Admissions and in rotations through Medicines Information, Technical and patient services.
The role includes:
Providing pharmaceutical care to patients from admission to discharge on the wards.
Participating in the multi-disciplinary team at ward level.
Day to day working with the Medicines Management Technicians.
Providing prescribing advice and support to junior medical staff.
Educating patients about their medicines.
Participation in clinical audit.
Main duties of the job
The department has excellent links with the University of Hertfordshire and opportunities are available for rotational clinical pharmacists to undertake the Joint Programmes Board (JPB) clinical diploma, supported and mentored by our highly skilled team.

The Pharmacy department within West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is located on three sites and has over 100 staff members, with the main Pharmacy department based at Watford General Hospital.
The department provides a stimulating, friendly and professionally rewarding environment for staff to develop their clinical expertise.

Education and qualifications:
Essential
1. MPharm (or equivalent overseas degree).
2. GPhC registration.

3. Certificate in Pharmacy Practice (or equivalent).

6. Need for Confidentiality.
7. Up to date clinical pharmacy knowledge.
