Finance Assistant - Birmingham Support the Financial Transformation of State School Catering Chartwells State Schools is driving a financial and operational transformation, and we're looking for a proactive Finance Assistant to join our team. What You'll Do 1. Assist with Financial Operations Help prepare management accounts, including accounting adjustments. Contribute to the preparation of financial reports for key stakeholders. Support the use and optimisation of tools like the Chartwells Dashboard to enhance data access and insights. 2. Support Business Partnering Activities Work closely with Regional Managers and other non-finance stakeholders to deliver accurate financial information. Assist in providing actionable insights that drive informed decision-making. 3. Contribute to Performance Improvement Ensure data accuracy and assist in analysing trends to identify financial opportunities and risks. Help improve processes and adapt quickly to changes in a fast-paced environment. 4. Enhance Personal and Team Growth Gain valuable experience in financial systems, reporting, and business partnering while contributing to sector-wide initiatives. What We're Looking For Essential Skills and Experience: Experience in management accounting, including adjustments and reporting. Strong analytical skills with a keen eye for detail. Effective communication skills to work with both finance and non-finance professionals. Actively studying towards a recognised accounting qualification (CIMA, ACCA, ACA, or equivalent). Desirable Skills: Proficiency in Excel (advanced skills preferred). Familiarity with SAP, Cognos, and QuickSight for reporting and analysis.
