The post is advertised at 37 hours per week. As Cashier you are responsible to OC Accounts Flight for the running of the cash office of the RAF Wittering Public and Non-public accounts on behalf of the Station Commander. We are looking for a committed and numerical individual to process all cash and bank transactions for public and non-public accounts, co-ordinate all accountable documents by requesting safeguarding and submitting returns to Air Command and keeping up to date with any regulations pertaining to the accounts. Tasks can be time sensitive but also need detailed scrutiny. The role is an exciting opportunity to be a part of Business Management, is suited to someone who is highly organised, confident using IT and enjoys being part of a high performing, energised and dedicated team. This position is advertised at 37 hours per week. Job description You will report to the Station Commander through the OC Accounts Flight for all Public and Non-Public accounting issues and be a key advisor to the Service Fund holders and individuals requiring cashiering services. Responsibilities will include, but not limited to: Processing all cash and bank transactions for public and non-public accounts Recording transactions on computer systems Issuing receipts for all monies received in and paid out The registration and custody of all cash vouchers Receiving and safeguarding all cash (public funds and service funds separately) and ensuring that the maximum cash holding is not exceeded. Requisition, issue and account for all foreign currency. Maintaining the subsidiary cash book daily, checking and agreeing balances with daily cash figures. Raising paying-in slips for cheques and surplus cash and banking the monies into Service Funds bank account. Paying Service funds locally employed staff wages and inputting this on PAYE EOM Management in the absence of SFAS ClerkTesting the Cashiers Panic Alarm. Co-ordinate all Railcard returns and submit monthly returns to Air Command, requesting new stock if required. Act as Bills and Recoveries Clerk, raising bills and recoveries in COM and inputting directly onto Web Iris. Actioning recovery disputes and raising request for cash write-offs. Informing OC Accounts when a bill is disputed Raising cheques for signature by OC Accounts Preparation of the monthly cash account for audit to HQ Air. Resolving any problems with the cash account with HQ Air. Preparation and problem solving requests from the Station Business Manager Balancing the Control Account.
