Tom Stuart-Smith Studio is seeking a studio manager to join its team in Hertfordshire, UK.
Tom Stuart-Smith Studio is looking for a new studio manager with both HR and PR experience to join our team of 25 designers and support staff. Applicants should have suitable experience to oversee the day-to-day running of the working studio and support our tight-knit team.
Tom Stuart-Smith Studio is a leading landscape design practice with an international reach, based in the countryside outside St Albans. We undertake work throughout the northern hemisphere and have completed major commissions for the Royal Household, the Royal Horticultural Society, Tate and The Royal Academy of Arts. Our office is a purpose-built studio overlooking its own garden.
The role is 32 hours per week, so could be flexible towards a 4-day working week.
Essential skills and attributes:
* a well-rounded communicator with great interpersonal skills. HR experience is essential
* highly organised with excellent attention to detail
* comfortable managing a busy and dynamic working studio. Experience within another creative or studio environment is a plus
* proficient in Microsoft Office, Adobe suite and social media packages
* the ability to coordinate and manage travel arrangements
Key responsibilities:
* ensure the smooth running of the day-to-day operations within the studio
* handle stock and ordering of essential office supplies
* coordinate studio management and maintenance and be a point of contact for contractors and suppliers
* oversee studio Health and Safety/Fire Safety policies and procedures
* organise and manage the team’s travel arrangements, including trains, flights, hotels and itineraries
* manage the studio inbox and liaise with directors regarding professional inquiries
* support studio directors with administering HR, recruitment processes and updating company policies
* coordinate studio external events
* be a driving force in the finalisation and publication of the studio’s new website, ensuring all projects and content are uploaded accurately
* run the studio social media account with regular content updates
* liaise with the Serge Hill Project CIC
