We are looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team and provide core commercial services for our clients. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Senior QS, initially taking responsibility for post-contract responsibilities on a highways project in Birmingham.
The role
* Full time, permanent.
* Hybrid working – initially site-based in Birmingham (3 days per week), working from home (2 days per week).
* Initially providing contractor-side quantity surveying services for a bus route and junction improvement highways project.
* Must have experience working on highways projects, or other similar infrastructure projects such as utilities, rail and/or other types of civils.
The resource(s) providing the services will
* Have a minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience.
* Have an in-depth understanding and experience of contractual and commercial processes.
* Have contractor post-contract QS experience, taking full responsibility for main contract administration and client engagement.
* Preferably have a degree in a construction or quantity surveying related discipline.
* Preferably be a member of a relevant Professional Institution or working towards membership.
* Have a good working knowledge of NEC forms of contract.
* Be proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
* Be client-focused and able to develop and maintain collaborative working relationships.
* Be a self-motivated team player that demonstrates excellent judgment and decision-making skills.
* Be flexible, positive, and engaging, with a desire to learn and develop through exposure to different types of clients and projects.
Remuneration and benefits
* Up to £65,000 salary (depending on experience/qualifications).
* Payment of professional fees.
* 25 days holiday entitlement, with the option to buy/sell leave.
