The Opportunity We are recruiting for an Assistant Project Manager (Rail) to support the Sizewell C Project, this role will be site based. Following on from the success of Hinkley Point C (HPC), the SZC Project is a nuclear new build project in Suffolk, which has obtained planning approval and Government financing support. The project has started construction and is now seeking private investment. When completed, it will provide dependable electricity to 6 million homes for 60 years, which along with renewables, will support Britain to achieve Net Zero by 2050. Your duties and responsibilities will be Supporting planning and delivery associated with the full life cycle delivery of a rail contract or railway work packages. Ensuring a full and consistent compliance to all appropriate Network Rail Standards is delivered. Maintaining effective communications with all stakeholders, suppliers, Network Rail and team. Responding to tender queries, meetings with suppliers, and if required providing input to tender technical reviews. Managing and resolving issues within the contact or package in timely manner. Ensuring the List of Deliverables relating to the scope of work is delivered. Additionally, you’ll demonstrate industry knowledge, and experience of working in the rail infrastructure industry. Ideally, you’ll come from the rail infrastructure sector.You will have the following qualifications & experience Project Management qualification (PRINCE2 or APM). Primavera P6. Experience at working in heavily regulated environment. Experience in design and, or the delivery of rail infrastructure projects. Good knowledge of CDM Regulations. Knowledge or experience of applying APM body of knowledge and OGC's Prince 2. IT literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs – Word/Excel/OutlookThe setting for the role Risks and Hazards are in line with working on a nuclear licenced site. These can include, nuclear fuel, radiation, chemicals and gasses, high voltage equipment, moving vehicles, flammable materials, high pressure circuits, steam, high noise and vibration levels.
