WHAT YOU’LL DO
The Trading Analyst will sit on Peninsula’s hedging desk and will be responsible for supporting the execution traders with hedging all physical flow. This will be done by monitoring and reporting on P&L movements, assisting with setting up new products and performing market analysis.
The role would suit someone with previous experience in Middle Office/Risk or Trading Analytics who wants to transition into an execution role in the future.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
* Build a strong knowledge of the Fuel Oil, Distillate and associated products markets
* Monitoring and reporting of daily trading book P&L and position management
* Assisting with the setup of new products and liasing with the Product Control Team to ensure correct setup across ETRM systems
* Checking Derivative Client Trades and running Margin reports
* Monitoring FX Exposures and hedging
* Performing weekly analysis/charting/macro fundamental news and reporting/presenting findings weekly to Trade Managers
* Liasing with external brokers to assist with daily flow management via futures and swap execution
* Adhoc research into new tradeable products
* Cover US Hours when required
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Essential
* Business level of English language is essential
* Knowledge of the Oil/Energy/Maritime Industry
* Confident individual with excellent verbal and written communication skills
* High level of ownership and accountability
* Ability to swiftly express key information to facilitate line manager/Regional Head of decision making
* High level of commercial acumen, able to think analytically and strategically and understand the wider business context
* Able to work collaboratively as part of a team and towards shared goals but equally able to work independently with a minimal level of supervision
* Ambitious, self-motivated and demonstrating a willingness to continually develop own knowledge and skills
* High level of computer literacy including proficiency of MS Office package and able to work with CRM systems
* Physical and paper understanding to better manage the potential exposures generated
