Electrical Engineer
Thetford
4 on 4 off alternating day and night shift pattern
As part of the engineering team, you will be responsible for minimising operational downtime and maximising operational efficiencies through ensuring the reliability and effectiveness of the plant and machinery.
You will be able to swiftly respond to production breakdowns and deliver planned preventative maintenance on a wide range of highly automated machinery such as conveyors, extruders, palletisers, vacuum packers, form sealers and wrapping machines. You will also carryout fault finding on PLC systems, complete electrical installation and carry out project work.
Key Responsibilities:
1. To operate to a high degree of both Health & Safety and good housekeeping standards
2. To operate within the HSE protocols e.g. Permit to Work, Risk Assessment, Method Statement, Safe System of Work, Standard Operating Procedures
3. To ensure lock off procedures are followed at all times to ensure the safety of self and others on site.
4. To carry out small projects, and modifications as required within any projects
5. To be able to quickly assess the nature of a breakdown and act accordingly
6. To be confident to share proposals for improvements across the site
7. To develop, create and implement maintenance SOP’s
8. To carry out PPM inspections and maintenance, and to carry out corrective maintenance repairs on a timely basis.
9. To carry out general maintenance as required which can include lubrication tasks / schedules.
Personal Competencies & Qualifications
10. NVQ level 3
11. City and Guilds, Electrical / Mechanical (essential)
12. ONC / HNC or equivalent level of education (desirable)
13. A thorough understanding of both skills (Mechanical and Electrical) (Essential)
14. Possess Leadership Skills (desirable)
15. Recognised Engineering Apprenticeship (essential)
16. 17th Edition I.E.E. regulations (essential)
17. Competency in PLC’s (essential)
18. An aptitude to fault diagnosis and logical thinking (essential)
19. Knowledge of Servo motor principles (essential)
20. A “Can Do” attitude (essential)
21. Must be able to read, understand and work with schematic drawings (Essential)
22. Hold advanced electrical wiring and maintenance skills (desirable)
23. Inspection, testing and certification (desirable)
24. Good General Workshop Skills (essential)
25. Must be capable of Self Organisation & Self-Motivation (essential)
26. Experience of working with Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) (desirable)
27. Demonstrable skills in CI, TPM, Lean techniques. (desirable)
