As part of the Credit Management team, you will be responsible for managing an aged debt ledger which will involve communication at all levels, both verbally & written. In this role you will require to remain calm under pressure, be assertive and have good number skills with the ability to explain financial matters clearly. As credit controller you will be responsible for recovering unpaid money from brokers and clients; proactively dealing with disputes as they arise.
The credit controller will report to the Credit Manager, but the role will also require a close working relationship with the Customer Trading Hub.
Job Purpose:
To maximise the collection of debt and ensure remedial solutions are provided to ensure aged debt is reduced. To focus on reducing the overdue debt >1 day ensuring cash flow targets are achieved.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Debt management and collection of broker/client accounts.
2. Aged debt management and review of performance against targets.
3. Monitor cash allocation and propose corrective action on unallocated accounts where needed.
4. Account reconciliations.
5. To escalate serious issues to the Credit Manager.
6. To ensure correct procedures and processes are in place.
7. Working to implement action plans for difficult/doubtful accounts.
8. Provide updates on performance of accounts & provide regular updates on issues & sales ledger performance.
9. Ensure that your brokers/clients are your priority and excellent customer service is always delivered.
10. Manage a high-level workload and pick up any ad hoc activity/projects to support the department.
11. To provide regular customer statements and downloads.
12. To ensure queries are maintained daily and resolved within the agreed timeframe.
13. Maintaining close working relationships with other internal departments, in particular CTH and Business Development.
14. Interaction with Intermediary with regards to Credit risk tracking where required.
15. Other general administrative duties associated within the Credit Management team.
16. To develop effective regular communication links with stakeholders.
17. Accountable for delivering against own role description.

2. Experience of working in a finance environment, numerate with the ability to communicate at all levels using various methods.

5. Experience within collections & credit control.
6. An understanding of the FCA guidelines.
7. Experience of working within the Insurance Industry.
