Working hours: 37.5 hours per week (banking 30 minutes per week to be used towards the shut down between Christmas and New Year)
Harlow Council currently manages capital investment, repairs, and maintenance and compliance services for circa 9,000 tenanted homes, 2,400 leasehold properties and a number of light industrial, shops, offices, community buildings and leisure facilities.

Our journey of transformation has been remarkable and achieved sector and national recognition for the changes we’ve introduced, but there is more to do.
As the Mechanical Engineer (Gas) you will be responsible for the following duties:
• Produce position statements and technical guidance
• Develop and maintain planned and preventative maintenance activities
• Carry out surveys on mechanical (gas) boiler and heating installations/systems
• Evaluate risk assessments of the locations and activities within plant rooms for the appliances
• Design new mechanical (gas) installations, including material and workmanship specifications
• Assist the Project Managers in their management oversight of refurbishment projects and programmes
• Undertake performance monitoring of the cyclical gas servicing contract, including 3rd Party audit findings
• Review, update and maintain real-time data for compliance monitoring of the Client’s assets
You’ll have experience of supervising and monitoring the performance of external contractors and consultants in delivering water hygiene and treatment activities and a good understanding of Safety, Health and Environmental requirements.
