Job Family:
Fleet operations is responsible for overseeing all aspects of a fleet of trucks. The main task is to ensure the fleet is well-maintained, meets legal requirements, and operates efficiently to maximize productivity and minimize costs. This role involves managing and developing relationships with drivers to increase satisfaction and improve retention. Additionally, they work closely with drivers to coordinate deliveries and ensure timely arrival at destinations. Communication, analytical, and organizational skills are essential for success in this role.
Job Summary:
As a Fleet Retention Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the onboarding, retention, and development of drivers and/or contractors, ensuring effective communication and conflict resolution between all stakeholders. You will manage fleet financials, monitor performance, and work closely with management to drive fleet productivity, safety, and service standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Provide orientation and support to drivers and/or contractors, assisting with transitions from lease-purchase to company driver roles.
2. Manage WorkHound feedback and ensure a 100% response and resolution rate for anonymous comments by engaging with drivers and/or contractors to address concerns.
3. Act as a liaison to resolve conflicts, submitting documentation to relevant departments and companies as needed.
4. Respond to driver and/or contractor inquiries, offering detailed explanations and guidance on improving lane choices and driving habits.
5. Develop relationships with drivers and/or contractors during onboarding, supporting fleet retention and revenue goals alongside the director.
6. Acclimate new owner-operator recruits in specialized fleets, addressing agent and customer service concerns and ensuring fleet safety and service standards.
7. Monitor fleet financials, report weekly debit reviews, and meet quality and productivity goals.
8. Write performance appraisals, manage hiring, disciplinary actions, and terminations with management approval, and oversee departmental objectives.
9. Build trust with drivers and/or contractors, resolve issues in partnership with management, follow up on messages daily, and escalate significant concerns to the VP as needed.
10. Share industry updates with drivers and/or contractors through WorkHound and monitor fleet CSA scores.
11. Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
High school diploma or GED.

1. Proven experience in complex problem-solving with the ability to analyze and resolve issues efficiently.
2. Advanced persuasion skills capable of influencing and motivating team members and stakeholders.
3. High social perceptiveness with the ability to understand and respond to the needs and concerns of drivers and other team members.
4. Exceptional relationship-building skills fostering strong connections with drivers and other stakeholders.
5. Effective communication skills both verbal and written to clearly convey information and expectations.
Work Location: Onsite at 1332 Edgewood Rd SW
Shift: 7am to 4pm Monday - Friday
