Role Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant who is passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of children with special educational needs. You will work under the guidance of the class teacher, SENCO, or SEN Manager to support students with SEND, enabling them to learn effectively both individually and in groups. Your responsibilities include supporting students academically across KS3-5 (language, reading, writing, spelling, mathematics), encouraging concentration and social skills, delivering special programs, and monitoring/reporting on students' progress.
Responsibilities
* Assist individual students who need extra help, ensuring they understand lessons and can participate in activities.
* Collaborate with teachers to create tailored plans for students with diverse needs, including learning disabilities and behavioral challenges.
* Help manage student behavior using appropriate strategies to maintain a calm and friendly classroom environment.
Requirements
* Possess or be willing to obtain an enhanced DBS check.
* Have the right to work in the UK.
* Previous experience working with children with SEND is highly desirable but not mandatory.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children with SEN.
* Ability to adapt to new environments.
* Confidence in maintaining a positive work environment.

This is a temporary position, with the possibility of becoming permanent later.
