Do you enjoy giving a voice to those who can’t use their own?
Teaching Personnel is in collaboration with a special provision in Weston-Super-Mare who are looking for their next teaching assistant to join their warm, welcoming team. The teachers and TAs go above the students' educational needs and support them in their daily basic needs and give them a voice when they can’t speak for themselves. The school listens to the needs of the students as they have multiple sensory rooms and a hydro pool.
The children have high needs and may need support with walking; some may be in wheelchairs or using crutches. They will need assistance with personal care and potentially medicine and feeding. This role is open to those who have supported all ages outside the classroom as your expertise is highly desired along with an open mind and playfulness!

* Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:40 am - 3:40 pm (term time only); flexible work arrangements available to support work/life balance
* Additional Benefits: Accessible transport routes and potential for contract extension
About the role:
* No prior teaching experience required; bring your enthusiasm, and we’ll provide the support
* Small class sizes (6-8 pupils max), enabling strong, supportive relationships with each student
* The opportunity to grow and develop your personal learning and training through on-the-job experience and training
* A fulfilling experience in supporting children’s learning and social development in a friendly, disability-focused environment
The Ideal Candidate Will:
* Be confident, proactive, and resilient when working with challenging behaviour
* Enjoy interactive play and engagement with young children, bringing a positive attitude and sense of humour
* Work well in a team and be open to feedback and growth
* Ideally have some experience with children or people with disabilities; it is essential you’ve had experience in care with children or adults.
* Have an open mind to the different types of support you need to provide.
