Operations Manager North Yorkshire Salary dependant on experience and qualifications Note: there is no car or allowance with this role as site based but there will be multi-site travel involved. As Operations Manager for this leading waste services business you will manage the day to day operations of this business contract based in Yorkshire to ensure that the professional level of service is maintained. Some of your responsibilities will be but not limited to; Manage and meet the KPI’s that surround this UK contract; Manage and develop the UK business operational structure to ensure that all supervision/inspection related activities are executed, conducted and reported accurately in a timely manner; Ensuring that the Inspection and sample preparation workforce are sufficiently motivated, skilled, and properly trained to meet the operational needs of the UK business. It is the post holder’s responsibility to inform the Business Operations Manager of continual resourcing difficulties and, or, operational problems within the business sector; Ensuring the Company’s Health & Safety policy is applied effectively; Ability to travel at short notice to attend nominations of high-profile jobs or evaluate issues in the supply chain operations if required; Ownership of the UK operational cost base within all locations that are associated to the Contract; Ensure Service Delivery as per contractual commitments and in line with agreed profitability targets. In order to be considered for this role you will have; Strong leadership and people skills; Ability to motivate internal and external stakeholders to participate in solution-driven, forward leaning business development initiatives; Accomplished ability to understand and operate effectively in a fast paced environment; Produce proposals of these solutions that capture this messaging, on both tactical and strategic level; Understand problems from multiple perspectives, in order to connect multi-faceted issues with clear and effective solutions; Create and maintain collegiate, efficient, respectful and mutually valuable relationships with internal and external stakeholders; Must have previously supervised or managed direct reports; Exposure to, and preferably operating experience in the circular economy; Experience and demonstrated success in working in a cross-border, international, matrix structure organization; Experience of living/working in an emerging market would be an advantage; Undergraduate degree or equivalent professional certification and experience; Travel as required both domestically and internationally. Shipping / export experience is essential Waste management / recycling experience advantageous Right to work in the UK and valid UK drivers licence is essential
