An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Urgent and Emergency Care Centre for a committed, enthusiastic and motivated Clinical Support Worker Higher Level to work alongside our team on SDEC
You will be required to assist qualified nursing staff in providing direct patient care, to enable a seamless assessment process at front of house.

Main duties of the job
1. To assist in admitting patients to the ward, completing demographic details and recording base-line observations.
2. To provide care to patients following instructions in the care plan, programme or pathway.
3. To demonstrate competence in the accurate recording of routine clinical observations.
4. To recognise abnormal recordings or signs of change in a patients condition and report changes to a registered nurse.
5. To assess patients level of dependence in meeting personal care needs and give appropriate assistance (includes hygiene, mobility, nutrition, elimination and comfort).
6. To assist patients to eat and drink in a sensitive and supportive manner.
7. To accurately record information on patient food charts and fluid balance charts, reporting concerns to a registered nurse.
8. To carry out clinical skills relevant to the ward/department and patient group (eg phlebotomy, ECG recording, simple dressings).
9. To assist clinical team with data entry, filing and maintaining accurate documentation of care.
10. To assist in escorting, transferring and discharging patients, ensuring all property is packed and the bed area is prepared for the next patient.
11. To ensure treatment rooms and ward areas are adequately stocked and tidy.
12. To participate in clinical supervision.
13. To assist in resolving conflict by responding to concerns and complaints in a positive manner.

Essential criteria
14. Numeracy and Literacy Level 2
15. Care certificate
16. Level 3 vocational qualification or Short courses and completion of competency workbook equivalent to Level 3 in a range of patient and clinical care duties and/or Equivalent knowledge and experience in a range of clinical care duties equivalent to Level 3; -Theoretical knowledge -Experience of a range of care and related procedures -clinical observations -knowledge of relevant legislation
