Job Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an individual to undertake the role of Counselling and Wellbeing Adviser within Kent Police, working with a small, innovative team to deliver a mix of proactive wellbeing programmes as well as one-to-one counselling for police employees, facilitating psychological screening processes and leading on peer support initiatives.
Responsibilities
1. Design and present psycho-education/training to staff members.
2. Deliver and develop wellbeing initiatives in a training capacity.
3. Provide a proactive and therapeutic service including counselling to officers and staff.
4. Collaborate with colleagues in Health Services as part of the Occupational Health and Health and Safety teams.
Qualifications
Applicants must be Accredited Counsellors with the BACP or equivalent. If eligible for accreditation, those working towards this with a minimum of two years post-qualification experience, preferably within an organisation setting, will be considered. Excellent interpersonal skills, both written and oral, are essential for this role. Knowledge of the policing environment is desirable.

The role will offer flexibility in terms of place of work depending on tasks, including the potential to work from home on occasion. There will be a requirement to regularly attend the workplace for the majority of the working week, as agreed with the line manager. Currently, the designated contractual workplace for this role is located at Sutton Road, Maidstone.
Kent Police offers incremental increases within this salary band, therefore the salary for this position will rise to a maximum of £45,591.00.
