We are looking for a good team player who brings a positive attitude to the Trust and has a flexible approach to working. You must have excellent communication, organisational, and leadership skills and be able to motivate and inspire the staff to achieve desired outcomes.
Main Duties of the Job
We are a supportive department, and you will be part of a solid team of paediatric nurses with varying levels of experience. This will provide you with the support and camaraderie to make each day a good one.
We receive a wide variety of emergency patients, including trauma and medical/surgical admissions. Our Children’s Emergency Department provides an independent Paediatric Emergency Nurse Practitioner led service and outpatient clinic that runs 7 days a week.

Detailed Job Description and Main Responsibilities
* Initiate, evaluate, and maintain a high standard of care, ensuring that it is evidence-based and compliant with best practice recommendations for children’s hospital services.
* Ensure that care is family-centered, sensitive, and responsive to the needs of the children and their families.
* Participate in providing the means for children and their families to comment on the standard of care delivered, ensuring a qualitative response from the Children’s ED team to aspects of care identified as needing improvement.
* Be aware of new policies and guidelines in place and ensure adherence.
* Actively contribute to research and audit within the department to improve patient care.
* Be an effective role model in the provision of high standards of care.
* Demonstrate independence in clinical decision-making, acting as a source of advice to junior staff.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* 2 years of acute paediatric nursing experience
* Experience in emergency department / PAU
* MIPS/998 or equivalent
* Willingness to complete APLS/EPLS
