An exciting opportunity has arisen for a permanent post within the Urology Department at the Princess of Wales Hospital.
We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic candidate to undertake the role of a Band 3 Waiting List Booking Officer.
The successful candidate will join a friendly secretarial/administration/booking team.
Main duties of the job
To work with the WL teams for outpatients, diagnostics, daycases and inpatients.
In conjunction with consultant surgeons, consultant anaesthetists, theatre coordinator and medical secretaries across sites to ensure all new and follow up outpatient and elective day case/inpatient pathways are managed appropriately and clinic and theatre lists are consistently booked with maximum utilisation, in a timely fashion to ensure no patients cancellations are received on the day of surgery and national targets are met for clinics and treatment.
Job responsibilities
* Communicate with clinicians, patients, nurses, managers, admin staff
* Booking of patients in line with RTT and cancer standards
* Accurate recording of data via patient admin systems
* Assist with statistics for pertinent performance meetings
* Deal with enquiries from patients
Person Specification
Qualifications/Knowledge
* Good standard of education
* RSA/OCR III or equivalent knowledge and experience
* ECDL, or equivalent qualification or experience in the following Microsoft office packages - Word, Excel and Outlook
* Basic knowledge of NHS performance targets, particularly in waiting times
* Basic knowledge of data protection and confidentiality
Experience/Skills
* Appropriate experience of working within a hospital and/or office environment
* Significant experience of dealing with the public
* Good organisational skills and ability to multitask
* Ability and willingness to work across divisions and sites
* Experience of working in NHS or similar organisation
* Familiarity with the Health Board Myrddin System

Salary: £23,159 to £24,701 a year, pro rata
