We are looking for an enthusiastic Band 5 Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our Intensive Support Team (IST) for adults with learning disabilities, in Peterborough. The post can be as a progression for return to practice OT's or OT students undertaking the course waiting to qualify. If successful you would work as a band 3 OT assistant until receiving your registration.

Our goal is to support service users to remain in the community when in crisis, by offering additional mental health support, therapy, and treatment. We support the transition of service users to return from out of area placements and work with services supporting young people to prevent them having to leave Peterborough unnecessarily.
We are looking for an OT to work as part of multidisciplinary team. You will be supporting Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) plans, sensory processing and integration assessments, completing tasks to promote individuals to have a meaningful life. A key part of your role will be working with the wider team to develop greater understanding of people's difficulties. As a team we are passionate about development and providing the best possible care for our service users.
Main duties of the job
To collaboratively work with the individuals with Learning Disabilities who have complex needs referred to our service when in a crisis to restore or create a match between the abilities of the person, the demands of activities/ occupations, and environment to improve function and access to opportunities for meaningful participation in daily life.
Interventions underpinned by the Model of Human Occupation (MOHO) and the principles of recovery, enablement, compassionate care, optimism, hope and unconditional positive regard.
To work collaboratively with all disciplines as part of a multi-disciplinary team to assure a high standard of care for patient/clients and their relatives/carers, under supervision of a Senior Occupational Therapist.
