Description Role: Office 365 Analyst Grade and Salary: Grade 6, £30,505 - £35,880 per annum FTE and working pattern: 1 FTE, 35hrs per week, Monday - Friday Holiday Entitlement: 33 days annual leave plus 9 buildings closed days (and Christmas Eve when it falls on a weekday) Purpose of Role The Office 365 Analyst will be a member of the Technologies & Devices Team providing end user systems support, guidance, documentation and training for the Microsoft Office 365 service and associated technologies. The post holder will contribute to the maintenance and monitoring of technical infrastructure services within IS primarily Office 365 and Microsoft Azure cloud platforms. They may be asked to apply updates and configuration changes to maintain security across the Office 365 environment and ensure it is kept up to date and secure The successful candidate will work across the divisions within IS and with schools and professional services at all campuses to support and manage HWU’s Office 365 service and technologies sharing best practice and ensuring the HW community maximises its considerable investment in the Office 365 service. They will also provide Office 365 guidance, monitoring, and technical support across the IS divisions as well as communicate and promote new technologies, functionality and initiatives in this service and raise awareness of the relevant issues, opportunities and threats where necessary. Key Duties & Responsibilities Manage and support the Microsoft Office 365 service across the University, reporting to the Technologies & Devices Manager. Consists of Microsoft Exchange email, Calendars, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive file storage and Stream video amongst others. Contribute to the delivery of objectives for the Technologies & Devices Team and monitor progress through use of reporting and monitoring systems Contribute to the management, documentation and maintenance of the Office 365 service, technical systems, policies, procedures and guidance provided by the Technologies & Devices Team to ensure that the services are of high quality, fit for purpose, up to date and secure in the ever-changing industry landscape and within HWU. Contribute to other University and team service development projects within Information Services Essential & Desirable Criteria Essential Educated to first degree level or equivalent practical experience in the workplace Demonstrable experience in information systems, ideally within an HE environment Experience of proactively delivering cloud IT infrastructure services ideally within an HE environment Professional knowledge and awareness of current issues affecting HE IT services Knowledge and awareness of current trends and challenges in a HE environment Ability to write procedures and documentation in a clear, concise format that is understandable by both technical staff and end users Demonstrable experience of managing own workload and changing priorities Excellent level of IT literacy and comfortable working with professionals in other specialisms Good track record of developing and maintaining positive working relationships with internal and external customers, peers, stakeholders and others Proven ability to solve technical or logistical problems Excellent communication, interpersonal and influencing skills How to Apply Applications can be submitted up to midnight (UK time) on Monday 09 December 2024.
