Health and Safety Manager
Location: Colwick, Nottinghamshire (with regular travel to Leicester sites)
Full Time Permanent Role
Working Hours: 40 hours a week Monday – Friday

As HSE Manager for a leading provider of Environmental and Sustainability solutions across the UK and Ireland—focused on Waste Management, Resource Recovery, and Circular Economy initiatives to recycle materials, create clean energy, and drive sustainable change—you’ll ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations across our Colwick and Leicester sites. In this role, you’ll work closely with site management to foster a safe, proactive work culture while leading an HSE Administrator and Advisor to drive continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
* Ensure strict adherence to health and safety policies, procedures, and performance standards on-site. Lead incident investigations and offer support to management and colleagues when needed.
* Take the lead in developing, reviewing, and updating policies and procedures to align with legal obligations and industry best practices.
* Conduct thorough inspections and audits, diligently monitoring recommendations and driving the implementation of improvements.
* Play a pivotal role in mentoring and developing junior team members, providing guidance and support in their professional growth. As part of this responsibility, you will have two direct reports in this role, offering an opportunity to shape and lead a dedicated team.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
* Demonstrated experince of working within a Health and Safety Management role within waste, recycling, or mass production/manufacturing industries or heavy industry is highly advantageous.
* EBOSH qualification is essential, with a solid understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations.
* You must be a strategic thinker with a hands-on approach and a demonstrable track record of leadership impact.
* Experience in implementing and supporting ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 audits, and knowledge of COMAH sites and DSEAR risks are highly advantageous.
