Working Patterns: 07:15 to 19:45 / 09:30 to 22:00 Enhancements for - working after 20:00 in a shift and for working on a Sunda Main duties of the job As one of our Healthcare Assistants, you will work with and support members of the ward inpatients team, providing a safe and supportive environment for all patients. Youll be ensuring that our patients receive a high standard of care by carrying out routine patient monitoring and care duties such as; changing bedding and assisting with personal hygiene, plus once competent, youll be undertaking basic nursing care practices like catheter fitting and bag changing. There will be elements of administration tasks to be carried out, for instance, you may be called upon to collect all patient information together for admissions and discharging or for follow-up calls. You may be required to photocopy particulars and transport patient paperwork to other departments. As the Healthcare Assistant, you will be conscious of health, safety and hygiene aspects on a ward. Not only will you look to make sure the ward is clean, you will monitor and look for potential hazards, ensuring they are made safe or the issue is quickly bright to the attention or the Ward Manger. In addition, youll assist with the management of stock and equipment, ensuring good levels and ordering when appropriate, pre-empting any shortfalls. If not, you must be willing to undertake the training which is provided by us. You will be computer literate and an effective communicator at all levels, both written and verbal and adaptable, this position will see you communicating with a wide range of people, from internal colleagues from varied departments to patients, their families and friends.
